222 Veggie Vegan is a vegan restaurant in West Kensington, well known for its all you can eat vegan buffet. Veggie Vegan switches between an a la carte menu in the evenings and a buffet at lunch time and has a large selection of desserts. We went on a Sunday afternoon to try the buffet. When we arrived there was a large selection of food including chickpea curry, brown rice, broccoli stew and a large salad bar. After about 20 minutes of us being there the vegan roast dinner came out which included delicious roast potatoes and vegetables (photo of my meal at the bottom of this post).

The staff are nice and the food is tasty, however it has a cheap, cafe feel which is quite rare in such an affluent part of the city. I’m also not 100% sure on the hygiene as everyone is very close together and the food is very exposed, one sneeze and the whole buffet would be wiped out.

The good:

  • Tasty food
  • All you can eat (never a bad thing!)

The bad:

  • Fairly limited selection
  • Restaurant atmosphere and style needs some work
  • Slightly concerned about hygiene

Veggie Vegan is Food of Me Approved. If you’re gluten free, dairy free, vegan or low carb you’re pretty safe here! However, to make this a fair review we’ll be returning for a meal from the a la carte menu and dessert (any excuse!) The pumpkin and pine nut risotto sounds amazing. I definitely recommend a visit, it is next to the new all vegan mini supermarket, Green Bay, which is definitely worth a trip, vegan or not!

Thanks for having us Veggie Vegan, we’ll be back!
